"As I sit here sipping my coffee (in my customized Maw Maw Mug), I can’t help but reflect on how quickly time flies. My granddaughter AJ is almost three months old now, and it feels like just yesterday that my daughter was that age. It’s amazing how fast they grow up, isn’t it? I often find myself looking at old photo albums and handmade cards from holidays and birthdays, reminiscing about the good old days when they were carefree and innocent. But I must say, I feel so blessed to have gotten this far and to have these two titles.
However, there’s one title that unnerves me - whatever comes after Maw Maw! Yup, that one. The one no one speaks of because it means we’ve raised our children and their children and are able to witness our children’s 3x version! Who can imagine the energy for that? The Maw Maw in me now struggles every day to keep up with my little AJ, who isn’t even crawling yet, let alone walking. Oh heck naw!
I wonder who has found balance with their multiple roles in life? What tools or routines are you using to maintain and keep pushing past time? For me, finding that elusive balance is one of my biggest challenges. Hence, I have decided to focus on building routines and consistency where I can. Always keeping in mind that AJ likes to set her own rules and times when she wants Maw Maw time, lol.
So, in my infinite wisdom, I decided to rejoin a gym. I’m hoping to unstiff my joints that hurt, strengthen my arms that seem to have become weaker over the years, and regain my endurance to keep up with these two titles I’ve been given. I plan on tracking my progress on instagram (my daughter can’t stop laughing at me). Truth be told, find it funny myself, but I am enjoying this creative and health journey and what ever comes from it.
Wish me luck!" 🍀
